Most people should do both kinds of exercise, strength developing and cardio, for the rapid and bigger gains. But if you had to pick one, Clark recommends, pick strength developing. “Cardio is more digestible, it’s less intimidating, but people also get less and less out of it over time,” she explains. Powerlifting isn’t the only way to see results. Resistance bands, cheap strips of elastic that loop around arms or legs are the best way to develop strength without lifting weights, for time being. Dena still motivates and forces her patients to exercise. But these days, it’s a recommendation she really believes. Not everyone has a capability to become a bodybuilder, but many of them can become stronger, physically fit and feel better by moving just a little bit more. “I find myself quite encouraging patients to turn to perform workout as an outlet or a way to help them cope with some of the difficult things they’re dealing with in life,” she says. “The message is different now because I do it myself.”

People of every age should devote a bit of their time to exercise or workout to perform some physical activity in order to live a healthy life. If they have not enough time to go to a gym or fitness center, they should at least do some exercise or physical movements in their home on regular basis.
